Debacles knock our doors in two ways ! They come into one life because of one's wrong deeds or because our character is tested in unimaginable depths. It creates waves, they may be damped waves or uncontrolled waves. They make us focus on a point to make it big or focus on our mental depression. Never think about the latter part. Always consider problems as puny. Then comes a spark, from which one will break out of the cocoon of philistine principles. It kindles new thought.
What I've blabbered till now is a preamble for the ignition of Creativity and Innovation. Which corporate culture redefines as "out of the box thinking !". Creativity and Innovation seems to be the same, but the difference is quite discernible. Lack of these two things precludes this society from developing. The explanation is quite simple. There is neither a laptop nor this blog without innovation or creativity. Let's go into definitions.
Before explaining creativity, we've to understand what innovation is !
Innovation - Pardon ! I'm not going into the etymologies here, I'm not well educated with the inception of words. Innovation is the main reason for the man to have a choice of leading great life. Lets examine a newly born baby, how does he feel seeing a TV ? This present generation of developing India is still in the trance of admiring a mobile phone's uses. 10 Years back, the same country used to look at such innovations with awe. Innovation is something which leads to an invention, innovation is the manifestation of a purposeful idea. Who thought of a magnetic compass before it was made ? Who imagined a pen which imprints thoughts upon a touch ? Everything is innovation.
The greatest oblivion is that innovation has come to a saturation. It's always wrong because Innovative things are not defined in the past, and come without announcement in the future. Innovation is everywhere. Its like a Christopher Nolan's see-saw screenplay in Insomnia. Its in the idea of starting T20 internationals. Its in a Pranav Mistry's sixth sense technology ! In a smart phone. Innovation is a paradigm shifters. Most of the people have average IQs. Not exactly, I say that most of them are not innovative, they rarely understand what this world needs in the coming 10 years, or what this world is lacking since time immemorial.
But every human being is creative.
Creativity : Creativity is a follower of innovation. It deals with modifications, ramifications and renovations. Its something like a cat woman addition to a batman ! Every human can be creative, What it needs is a pinch of raw materials for creation. Some experiment with creativity, other judge it before experimenting. Creativity is a strict status quo stuff. Its just like making a 2-sim mobile breaking the idea of single sim mobile. Sim card is innovation, dual sim is creativity.
Creativity has no limit, where as innovation has. Innovation is an underlying mechanism over what we see as a machine. Birthday cake is an innovation, creativity has is the icing and flavors. The flavors are unlimited. It further gets creative with with candles, creams, names etc.
Creativity without innovation is too irritating to bear and jades thought. And innovation without creativity is too pristine to cope up with. Balancing these two is an art and it leads to a proper way of living.
I live in India and what I expect is a contemporary thought process that must muster Indian brains, which are regarded as some of the smartest brains in the world. What India is lacking, is innovation, it has lot of creativity. Indians are more used to modify someone's ideas. Indians are becoming too stereotypical. If not this society 'll certainly run into a quagmire which ultimately reflects the recklessness.
P.S. : While I was thinking on this article, an innovative thought came into my mind.
We often can't find how much water is mixed into milk. So lets make a beaker to fill the milk such that the beaker has a mark of the level of milk for exactly 1 Kg of milk. Now, if the milk gets diluted, since the densities of water and milk are different, the level of milk for 1 Kg 'll not be upto the mark (because density of milk is more than density of water). So we don't need a lactometer everytime, just sell beakers with 1 Kg water level mark. Now this beaker is an innovation. Wah... I'm scientist Keshav hahahaha !....
